These red brick buildings, formerly a Japanese Imperial Army armory, have been revitalized and designated as Important Cultural Properties. The museum features diverse exhibition sections covering primitive bead making, ancient trade with East Asia, the medieval Ikko Ikki uprisings, the early modern Sankin-kotai system, modern arts and crafts, and festivals that continue to this day.
