MapThe shrine enshrines Amenohazuchio-no-Kami, the deity of weaving. The grand shrine building was lost to fire in 1552 during Asakura Yoshikage’s warfare. In 1875, it merged with Hakusan Shrine, dedicated to Kukurihime-no-Kami, and Hattori Shrine was re-established at its present location. Every year on September 1, the Hassaku Festival is held to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. A large lion used in a dedicatory dance parades through the Yamashiro Onsen town, and events are held around the shrine.
