Opened in 2011 as Kanazawa City's fourth public library. In 2012, it was selected as one of the "25 Most Beautiful Public Libraries in the World." Its innovative design, featuring approximately 6,000 round windows on the exterior walls, has attracted attention both domestically and internationally. Aiming for "a sense of openness like the outdoors filled with soft light," about 60% of the building's north side is an atrium space. It is a one-room style library that combines openness with tranquility, becoming a new landmark in Kanazawa.
