Gyokusen'inmaru Garden
gyokusen'inmaru teien

The name of this garden is derived from the fact that Gyokusen-in (Princess Ei), the official wife of the second feudal lord Toshinaga, established her residence here. Construction began under the third lord Toshitsune, and the garden was cherished by successive lords until the abolition of the feudal domains. In March 2015, it was reconstructed based on its appearance during the late Edo period. Magical light-up events, expressing the charm of the four seasons, are held mainly on weekends.
