Kakusenkei Gorge
Kakusenkei

This gorge is located along the Daishoji River, which flows alongside the Yamanaka Onsen district. It spans a section of approximately 1.3 km from the upstream Korogi Bridge to Kurotani Bridge, featuring a well-maintained promenade along the river. Visitors can enjoy the uniquely S-shaped Ayatori Bridge and the all-cypress wood Korogi Bridge, with the scenery being particularly exceptional during the autumn foliage season. The surrounding area offers many attractions, including the Basho-do Hall dedicated to Matsuo Basho, the "Mugen-an" samurai residence displaying Kutani ware and works by Ogata Korin, and the "Kakusenkei Kawadoko" (river terrace).
